Mary Lee Farmer, age 89, died Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Deer Ridge in Dayton. Mary was born in Rhea County on January 11, 1920, the daughter of the late Oscar and Myrtle (Goins) Maynor. She was also preceded in death by her husbands and grandsons Jared Travis and Robert Johnson.
Mary lived most of her life in Rhea County where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sale Creek Church of God.
She is survived by her three sons, Bobby Lee Mercer of Ohio, Donald Ray Johnson of Florida and Richard Allen Nose of Chattanooga, her five daughters, Patricia Ann Mercer Neurohr of Ohio, Mary Etta Finkel and Geraldine Travis Sullivan, both of Dayton, TN, Judy Lee Zink of Georgia and Lois Jean Boofer of Evensville, TN, sister, Inez Peppers of Chattanooga, twenty grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
Funeral services followed by a white dove release will be held Sunday at 2:00 pm at the Sale Creek Church of God with Bishop Kenneth Bolton and Rev. Terry Bolton officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her parents in the Spivey Cemetery in Dayton.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. The body will also lie in state at the church thirty minutes before the funeral.
