Maryanne Bristol Brown of Dayton passed into the presence of her Savior Monday, February 22, 2021, at the Veranda Life Care Center in Dayton, TN.
Maryanne was born in Talbotton, GA on October 12, 1933. At the age of six, her family moved to Washington D.C. where she lived until she married and moved south to Georgia, Florida, and eventually made her home in Tennessee in 1973. Her last five years were spent living in Dayton.
She grew up with a love for dancing and had a dance studio in Florida where she gave lessons for several years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dayton and loved being in the Joyful Helpers Sunday School Class. She had a real heart for people and was known for her sweet smile, warm hugs, and her love for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Birch Douglass and Violet Drennan Douglass; her first husband of 39 years, Ronald Douglas Bristol; her second husband of 12 years, Norman James Brown; and her sister, Isabelle Lee Blackstock.
She is survived by her five children all of Tennessee; Kathy (Roba) Davis of Spring City, Valerie (Tony) Castlen of Dayton, Scott (Lynn) Bristol of Crossville, John (Sue) Bristol of Jamestown, and Isabel (Ken) Coleman of Winchester. She loved and enjoyed her 18 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson who were all precious to her.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, February 25, 2021, at First Baptist Church in Dayton at 6:00 pm with Rev. Milton Knox officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Rhea Memory Gardens in a private family service.

The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 25, from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the church. Social distancing is strongly encouraged, and face masks are optional.
