Mary Woody

Mary Sue Woody, age 78 of Dayton died Saturday morning, February 25, 2012 at her home. Mary was born in Sullivan County on November 27, 1933 the daughter of the late Luther and Nellie Jane (Poore) Mashburn. She was also preceded in death by her son, Gerald Woody, sister, Jane Mashburn and brothers, Clarence, Joe, Buddy, Tony and Billy Mashburn.
Mary lived most of her life in Dayton where she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mile Straight Baptist Church in Soddy.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, William W. Woody, her daughter, Sharon (David) Gibson of Dayton, Son, Barry (Cheryl) Woody of Cleveland, two sisters, Shirley Cloyd of Jonesboro and Patsy Clark of Johnson City, two grandchildren, Ashley Woody and Brandon (Jamie) Sneed and two great-grandchildren, Gauge Sneed and Nicholas Sneed.
Funeral Services for Mary will be held Monday at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Al Goss officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her son in Montgomery Cemetery.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00pm until 6:00pm.
