Mary Hale Wooden, age 90, of Pikeville, passed away on March 11, 2021 in Chattanooga. She was born in Bledsoe county on April 19, 1930, the daughter of the late TY Rothwell and Tilda Mae Daniels. Mary was also preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin “Dude” Hale and O.W. Wooden, her daughter Debbie Rothwell and son-in-law, Larry Davis.
Mary lived all of her life in Rhea and Bledsoe counties. She was employed at Kayser Roth for over 19 years and enjoyed doing embroidery, canning and traveling. Mary was a member of the Ogden Baptist Church all her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Connie (Bro. Jimmy) Jewell, Brenda (John) Jewell both of Dayton Mountain and Linda Davis of Madisonville; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two step-sons, Wendel Wooden of Crossville and Winfred (Gail) Wooden of Dayton; one step-granddaughter; one step-great-grandson; and David Skillern of Rossville, GA, whom she raised.
Funeral services for Mary will be held on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with her son-in-law, Rev. Jimmy Jewel and Rev. Shane Johnston officiating. She will be laid to rest in Summer City Cemetery followed by a white dove release.
