Virginia Hurley

September 2, 1925 — May 9, 2019

Mary Virginia Hurley, age 93, of Dayton, passed away early Thursday morning May 9, 2019 at her home in Dayton. She was born on September 2, 1925 in Grainger County, the daughter of the late McPearson and Mary Etta (Galyon) Harbin.

Virginia lived in Dayton for the past 27 years and previously lived in Morristown, where she was a Department Manager for Rose’s Variety Store until moving to Dayton. She wrote poetry and was a member of the New Union Baptist Church in Dayton.

She is survived by her son, Gary (Judy) Hurley of Dayton; her daughter, Rowena Noe of Morristown; and five grandchildren, Garana Enecks, Terry Hurley, Angela Graves, Fred Noe Jr. and Kristen Nicole Thompson.

Funeral services for Virginia will be held Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Ruehling officiating. She will be laid to rest in Spence Cemetery in Dayton.
