Marilyn Jean Monday, age 67 of Dayton, went to be with her Lord and Savior on her birthday, Thursday, April 9, 2020 in Dayton. Marilyn was born on April 9, 1953 in Dayton the daughter of the late James Junior and Margaret Ellen (Holden) Raper. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents James and Viola Holden and James and Hattie Mae (Raper) Miles, her brother, Ronnie Raper and her sister Donna Raper.
Marilyn lived in Dayton all of her life. She was a Rhea Central High School graduate, Class of ’72, a former Director of Rhea Richland Senior Neighbors and a babysitter for numerous children for many years. Marilyn was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Raymond Monday of Dayton; her three daughters, Stormie (Devin) Harmon of Dayton Mountain, Emily Monday and Kristi Clark both of Bakewell; sister, Nancy (Tobet) Thompson of Dayton; granddaughter, Brinley Harmon of Dayton Mountain; special aunt, Elizabeth Owens of Dayton; sister-in-law, Phyllis Raper of Dayton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A family graveside service for Marilyn will be held Monday afternoon at Rhea Memory Gardens with Rev. Stanley Faulkner officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her parents.
