Marie Abel Day age 84 of Dayton died Wednesday April 5, 2006 in Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Dayton March 4, 1922 the daughter of the late Albert and Irene Abel. She was also preceded in death by her husband Hoyal A. Day and her son, Jackie Day, brothers, Harold and William Abel.
Marie lived in Dayton all of her life. She worked with Robinson Mfg. as a seamstress where she retired after 25 years. Marie enjoyed yard work & flower gardens and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Leslie (Johnny) Goins of Dayton, her son, James “Jimmy” (Wynnel) Day of GA., seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, her sister, Margaret Trotter, brother, Robert (Nellie) Abel, sister-in-law, Doris Abel all of Dayton.
Funeral services for Marie will be held Friday morning at 11am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Abel Cemetery.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Thursday 5-8pm.
