Margie Lee Martin, age 89 of Dayton, passed away at her home on May 17, 2026. She was born at home in Evensville, Tennessee, on November 5, 1936, the daughter of Lee and Myrtle (Kring) Henderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Odis Tate “Jack” Martin in 2021.
Margie proudly graduated from Spring City High School and went on to build a dedicated career, spending over 30 years at Dryset Knitting Mills and additional years at La-Z-Boy. A devoted member of Graysville First Baptist Church, her faith and her church family were the true center of her world.
Margie is survived by her son, Robert Tate (Debbie) Martin of Dayton; her daughters, Nancy (David) White of Chattanooga and Nora (David) Griswald of Tracy City; her seven grandchildren, her 12 great-grandchildren; her three great-great-grandchildren; her brothers, Owen (Anna Lou) Henderson of Evensville and Grover (Nola) Henderson of Carroll County, Tennessee; and her sister, Ginny (Jack) Ballard of Cleveland.
Funeral services for Margie will be in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. with Brother Danny Pryor officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jack, in Pleasant View Cemetery.
