Margaret "Margie" Byce Snyder

Margaret “Margie” Byce Snyder, age 94 of Dayton, passed away at her home on Thursday, October 17, 2024. She was born in Lupton, Michigan on May 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Kitler) Byce. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Vivian Mellon and Arlene Byce.

Margie lived in Dayton since 1998; she graduated from West Branch High School and Butterworth School of Nursing. She was employed as a registered nurse at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She also studied at Moody Bible Institute. Margie shared her passion for the Lord as a missionary in Brazil from 1960 thru 1998, and then returning from 2004 thru 2010. Margie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, and singing. She attended Rockford Baptist Church in Michigan, then Grace Bible Church in Dayton.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dave Snyder of Dayton; her five children, Ruth (Rev. Dave) Hobbs of Dayton, Steve (Lois) Snyder of Lincoln, Nebraska, Dan (Julie) Snyder of Dayton, Nathan (Erika) Snyder of Athens, and Annie Snyder of Tampa, Florida; her 14 grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service for Margie will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Bible Church with Rev. Jim Woychuk officiating. She will be laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Bible Church, 2809 Old Washington Hwy, Dayton, TN 37321 or South America Mission.
