Lynda Irene Morgan, age 71 of Dayton, passed away early Saturday morning, May 28, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. Lynda was born in Chattanooga on July 22, 1950, the daughter of the late Jessie and Verna (Long) Thomas. She was also preceded in death by her husband James Morgan and her brother, James Thomas, Sr.
Lynda lived most of her life in Dayton and was a graduate of Red Bank High School, class of 1968. She was an employee for many years at Kayser Roth and then as a server at the Country Place Restaurant. She enjoyed sewing, fishing and bingo and was of the Church of God faith.
She is survived by her son, John (Stefanie) Whitt of Soddy Daisy; daughter, JoAnn (Robert) Wade of Alvarado, MN; step-son James (Leslie) Morgan of Sale Creek; seven grandchildren, Jessica (fiancée Cord Dyer) Whitt of Dayton, Christy Poe of Alvarado, MN, Karin Alley of Alvarado, MN, Chandler (Christie) Johnson of Sale Creek, Lily Whitt and Megan Whitt, both of Soddy Daisy, and Jesse Goins of Dayton; and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Vicki Silcox of Dayton and special friends, Nina and Marty Revis of Dayton.
Funeral services for Lynda will be held Monday evening, May 30, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Sister Jeannine Good and Sister Patsy Good officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Rhea Memory Gardens on Tuesday morning, May 31, 2022, at 11:00 a.m.
