Luther “Hunk” Revis, age 91 of Dayton, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday morning, November 26, 2010 at Memorial Northpark. He was born October 22, 1919 in LaFollette, TN to the late Harry Martin and Dora (Barley) Revis. He was also preceded in death by brothers Doyle Revis, R.C. Revis and Harley “Hop” Revis.
Hunk lived in Dayton most of his life and enjoyed gardening, fishing and basket weaving. He served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army, serving in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Bogle’s Chapel Baptist Church.
Hunk is survived by his wife of 62 years Maxine (Wilson) Revis, sons, Anthony (Polly) Revis, Rev. Aaron (Kim) Revis, daughters Angie (Gary) Pritchett and Anita Hicks, all of Dayton, brothers Harry Revis, Jr. and Mac Revis, sisters Jeanette (Arthur) Mincey and Ruby (Tom) Wilkey all of Dayton and 4 granddaughters, Ashley Revis, Lindsay Hicks, Kanyon Revis and Chyanne Revis and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Hunk will be Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with his son Rev. Aaron Revis and nephew Rev. Rusty Revis officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens with military honors followed by a white dove release.
Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to the Gideons Association.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Saturday after 5:00 pm.
