Lowell Hoyt age 87 of_Dayton died Friday April 6, 2007 in Memorial North Park Hospital. He was born May 30, 1919 in Dallas Center, IA the son of the late
Clarence and Anna (Dorsey) Hoyt. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Lola (Goehring) Hoyt, his infant son Stephen Hoyt and son, Galen Hoyt.
Lowell earned his BA at Bryan College and BD and ThM at Grace Seminary and his Masters in Mathematics at University of South Carolina. He was a pastor from 1945-1960 and college math teacher from 1961-1979. He lived in Dayton since 1982 and was a member of the National Fellowship of Grace Brethen Church and attended Grace Bible Church.
Lowell is survived by his wife Rebecca (Peck) Hoyt of Dayton, his sons, Bruce Hoyt of New Zealand, Loren Hoyt of IA, Stanley Hoyt of GA, Mark Hoyt of TX and Sherwood Hoyt of PA, his daughter, Nelda Banek of TX, 35 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Lowell will be held Tuesday at 3pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Doug Russell officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Monday 5-8pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Bryan College.
