Louise Dickerson, age 93 of Savannah, GA and formerly of Dayton, went peacefully into the hands of God Sunday August 10, 2014 in Port Wentworth, GA. She was born November 15, 1920 in Dayton to the late John F. and Stella (Holland) James. She was also preceded in death by her son David N. Dickerson.
Louise lived most of her life in Dayton where she was a homemaker. She was an avid reader, prolific quilter and also enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a member of Dayton First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter “Carm” Carmolita (Rev. Bill) Pegram of Savannah, GA, her sister Reba James of Las Vegas, NV, her brother Bill (Mary) James of Dayton, OH, three grandsons David Dickerson, Jr. of Chattanooga, Lynn (Leslie) Pegram of Savannah, GA and Eric Dickerson of Dayton; two great-grandsons, Jakob Pegram of Savannah, GA and Gabriel Dickerson of Dayton and one great-granddaughter, Caitlin Lewis of Cookeville.
Funeral services for Louise will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with her son-in-law Rev. Bill Pegram officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens.
