Linda Sue Cox, age 60, of Dayton died Sunday afternoon May 11, 2008 at Rhea Medical Center. Linda was born on Grandview Mountain May 10, 1948 the daughter of the late Rainey and Anna Mae (Godsey) Reed. She was also preceded in death by her sister Angeline Baker.

Linda was raised on Grandview and was a graduate of Spring City High School. She was a long time resident of Dayton and was an optician and owner of Vision Plus Optical in Dayton and in Soddy-Daisy. She was a member of Garrison Baptist Church and loved to go shopping.

Linda is survived by her husband of 37 years, Dean Cox, her two sons, Stephen Cox of Dayton and David Cox of Nashville, brothers, Rainey Reed, Jr. of Moultrie, GA and William Reed of Spring City, sister, Lucille Hollingsworth of Calhoun, GA, two granddaughters, Linda Jill Cox and Alisha Cox both of Dayton, sister-in-law, Glenna Reed of Spring City, special friends, Rachael Ridge of Chattanooga and Jay Taylor of Columbia, TN and her nieces and nephews, Trisha, Linda, James, Timothy, Kerry and Michael.

Funeral services for Linda will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Doyse Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Spring City Memorial Gardens followed by a white dove release.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Tuesday from 3:00pm until 7:00pm.
