Lillian Stanley age 92 of Dayton went to be with her Lord Wednesday October 25, 2006 in her home. She was born in Scott County, TN. on January 23, 1914 the daughter of the late Pierson Millard and ArDonna (Henry) Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 47 years John “Emmett” Stanley, brothers, David Brown and Ernest Brown, her sisters, Pearl Gallagher, Ernie Roddy and Minnie Travis
Lillian lived in Dayton for 87 years where she was a homemaker. She was a member of Garrison Baptist Church since 1951. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her Lord. She loved pets, gardening, flowers and cooking.
She is survived by her son, John Paul (Dinah) Stanley of Knoxville, her daughter, Linda (Joe) Purser of Dayton, several grandchildren , Scott (Jeannie) Stanley, Kent (Allison) Stanley, Dan Stanley, David (Emilee) Stanley all of Knoxville, Pam (Terry) Keylon of Dayton and Dana (Wes) Gilbert of Chattanooga, 12 1/2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev.
Barry Purser and Dr.Danny Ruehling officiating. Burial will be in Spivey Cemetery followed by a white dove release.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Friday 4-8pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Garrison Baptist Church in Dayton.
