Lester Simpson

Lester Daniel Simpson age 89 of Evensville died Thursday February 8, 2007 in Rhea County Nursing Home. He was born January 17, 1918 in Illinois, the son of the late John and Rose (Phegley) Simpson.
He served his country with the US Army during WWII. Lester retired as office manager for Crane Midwest in Chicago, IL. He has lived in Rhea County for the past 28 years where he was a member of St. Bridget Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Holland) Simpson, two sons, John Daniel Simpson of St Simons Island, GA and Kevin Simpson of Oak Lawn, IL, his three daughters, Mary Alice Brogan of Palos Hts, IL, Celeste Palermo of Lemont, IL and Bernadette Johnson of Crestwood, IL, brother, Earl Simpson of Aroma Park, IL, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev Milton Knox officiating. Burial will be in Spring City Memorial Gardens.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Saturday 9am-2pm.
