Arlis Leon Bell, age 76, of Sale Creek, died Wednesday July 2, 2008 at his home. Leon was born July 2, 1932 in Bledsoe County, the son of the late Robert Milton and Cleo Victoria (Douglas) Bell. He had lived in Sale Creek for the past 35 years and was retired from Dixie Yarns in Lupton City. He was a U.S. Army veteran , a member of the Sale Creek United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 107 in Soddy Daisy and was an avid golfer.
Leon is survived by his wife Mary “Mickey” Bell of Sale Creek, daughters, Lisa Denton of Soddy Daisy and Arlissa Crebbs of Pikeville, sons Richard Denton of Graysville and Steve Bell of Pikeville, brother LaVaughn (Frances) Bell of Hixson, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Leon will be held Friday at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with the Reverends Damon Mitchell and Archie Poole officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the New Providence Cemetery in Sale Creek followed by a white dove release.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 pm.
