Mark Falzone

March 18, 1954 — September 9, 2020

Lawrence Mark Falzone, known to all as “Mark”, being 66 years old, entered into the presence of Jesus Wednesday, September 9, 2020. He was a resident of Dayton, Tennessee for two and a half years, moving from Hopewell, New Jersey, born to the late Lawrence and Josephine (DiMaio) Falzone on March 18, 1954 in Brooklyn, New York. He was raised in a family of faith in God and loved the church.

Mark graduated from Rutgers University with a B.A. in Music Education followed by Organ Study at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. He also trained and acquired his CDL to operate tour buses, a loved profession as a Motor Coach Operator during the summer months off from teaching.

Mark held three major careers: he was a Motor Coach Operator for 22 years, charting over one million miles traveled in over thirty states and five provinces in Canada. He proudly could name them all! His musical talents blessed many as Church Organist and Choir Director at Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church in Ringoes, NJ, then Organist for the remainder of his career at Montgomery Evangelical Free Church in Belle Mead, NJ, a combined 42 years in organ music ministry. His teaching career in music spanned 29 years for elementary, middle and high school. The majority of his career was spent in New Brunswick Public School District in New Jersey, in vocal and instrumental music.

Mark was a type A, an extrovert, very outgoing with a great sense of humor. He had a servant's heart and was always concerned about the spiritual course of others. He took great pride and responsibility in providing for his family. He loved family traditions which included Sunday Italian pasta dinners around a table full of family. He was incredibly handy with high standards; he always had a home remodeling project that he tackled with great expectations. Since he was a young boy, he loved Lionel trains and Hess trucks and accrued quite the collection over the years. Having spent most of his life in New Jersey, Mark always enjoyed the Northeastern winter snowstorms and all the things that accompanied them – tracking the weather, shoveling snow and building fires in the fireplace. He was an animal lover which meant that there was at least always one family pet (usually a dog). His passions were centered around family, music and travel.

Mark will be missed dearly by his wife, Dawn (Tallamy) Falzone of Dayton, TN, of 40 years. His children, Anthony (and wife Dayna of Dayton, TN), Melanie Williams (and husband Kyle of Bentonville, AR), Colin (and wife Kelly of Hillsborough, NJ) and Angela McVicker (and husband Johnny of Alpha, NJ) will carry on their father's legacy of love, faith in God, a servant's heart, compassion and a strong work ethic. Mark leaves behind generations of love: sisters Deborah Ritter (New Tripoli, PA), Sharon Jiorle (and husband Ralph of Phillipsburg, NJ): brothers Loren (and wife Kathy of Honey Brook, PA), Garrett Falzone (and wife Donna of Westfield, NJ); and grandchildren, Addyson, Aurelya, Danyca, Dempsey, and Avonlea Falzone; Colette Williams; Gianna, Kayley and Sabrina Falzone; and Dustin McVicker.
