Larry Michael Lawson, Sr. of Dayton passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. Larry was born in Rockwood on October 10, 1948, the son of the late Reynold Arthur Lawson and Evelyn Griffin Lawson. He was preceded in death by his brother Ronnie Lawson.
He served his country in the U.S Army and the U.S. Navy as Master Chief in Korea and retired after 28 years of service. He moved to Dayton in 2000 and loved history, sports and puzzles.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Susan (Sutton) Lawson of Dayton, four children Mike (Jessica) Lawson of Dayton, Kristy (Chris) Noegel of Dayton, Jennifer (Richard) Gould of Dayton, Mark (Jessica) Lawson of Dayton, three brothers Donald (Tia) Lawson of CT, Ray (Cindi) Lawson of NC, Tim Lawson of CA, 9 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Funeral services for Larry will be held Saturday at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Justice officiating. He will be laid to rest in Spence Cemetery.
