Landon Alexander Clark, age 89 of Dayton died at the Heritage Home in Dayton Sunday morning, April 1, 2012. Landon was born in Rhea County on June 14, 1922 the son of the late Forrest and Emma (Cornett) Clark. He was also preceded in death by his wife Thelma (Snider) Clark in 2005.
Landon served his country with the US Coast Guard during WWII and retired as a farmer and lumberjack. He was a member of the Sale Creek Church of God.
He is survived by his three sons, Alan (Carolyn) Clark, Jessie (Sue) Clark and Leon (Suzanne) Clark all of Dayton, four daughters, Lela (Tommy) Solomon and Alice Boutwell both of Dayton, Francine Keith of Hendon and Wreba Poole of Nashville, 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services followed by military honors for Landon will be held Monday evening at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with his pastor, Bishop Kenneth Bolton officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife Tuesday morning at 11:00am in the Morgan Springs Cemetery on Dayton Mountain.
