Kathryn Bryan Choate, age 94, of Dayton, died Friday afternoon, July 13, 2012 at her home. She was born November 9, 1918 in Amity, Arkansas to the late W.C. and Clara (Ligon) Allen. She was also preceded in death in 2002 by her husband of 64 years, Mark Wade Choate and a grandson Mark Wade Choate, III.
A resident of Dayton for more than 30 years, Kathryn was a homemaker and was active with the Garden Club, the Readers Club and was a member of the Eastern Star in Arkansas. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Dayton.
She is survived by her sons Bruce (Kathe) Choate of Lido Island, CA and Mark (Cindy) Choate of Palos Verdes Estates, CA, four grandchildren, Courtney (Mike) Knapp of Valencia, CA, Kaysie (Gary) Fitzpatrick of Coto de Caza, CA, Blake (Catlin) Choate of Corona Del Mar, CA and Ewan Choate of Newport Beach, CA and four great-grandchildren, Michael Knapp and Haley Knapp, Valencia, CA and Mark Fitzpatrick and Erin Fitzpatrick of Coto de Caza, CA.
Funeral services for Kathryn will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m.at the Dayton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ryan Moore and Rev. Ken Pierce officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Rhea Memory Gardens.
