Alice Julia Frances Phillips, age 93 of Birchwood died early Saturday morning, August 7, 2010 at Life Care of Rhea County. Julia was born in Hixson on December 15, 1916 the daughter of the late Joseph and Carrie (Doyle) Thomas.
Julia lived in Hamilton County all of her life and had retired as office manager for Rothberger City Directories.
She is survived by her two sons, Daniel Phillips of Decatur and David Phillips of Cleveland; her two daughters, Wilma Jo Chastain and Julia Lynn Morgan both of Birchwood; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:00pm at Chattanooga Memorial Park with Rev. Rusty Revis officiating.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 2:00-5:00pm.
