Judith Ann “Judie” James, age 62 of Dayton, died Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Parkridge Hospital in Chattanooga. She was born November 5, 1951 in Essex, MD to the late Franklin and Elizabeth (Diehl) Potter. She was also preceded in death by her sister Fern Brooks.
A resident of Dayton since 1989, she enjoyed playing spades, her computer, all the holidays, especially Christmas and her family.
She is survived by her husband Ron James, her son Cory (Crystal Marie) Akin, three daughters Christina Jones and Crystal Ann Jones, all of Dayton and Melissa (David) Thurman of Dayton Mountain, five brothers, Mickey (Veronica) Watts, John Potter, Frank (Brenda) Potter, Bobby (Donna) Potter and Bobby Ryan all of Maryland, and five grandchildren, Harmony Akin, Joey Jones, Sean Michael Crowell, Montana Thurman and DeAna Thurman.
Funeral services for Judie will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Fr Sam Sturm officiating. She will be laid to rest in Buttram Cemetery.
