Joyce Jean Morgan

Joyce Jean Morgan, age 80 of Hixson died early Wednesday morning June 30, 2010 at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga. Joyce was born in Graysville on December 14, 1929 the daughter of the late David and Cleo (Shanks) Sinclair. She was also preceded in death by her husband Clarence Joseph “Joe” Morgan.

Joyce lived most of her life in Dayton and Hixson. She was a graduate of Rhea Central High School and Pisgah University in Asheville, NC and Southern Missionary College in Collegedale, TN. She retired as an industrial chemist with Dupont/Cutter Laboratories. Joyce was a member of the Eastern Star and former president of Hamilton County Business Womens Association. She was a former gray lady at Rhea Medical Center and Erlanger Medical Center.

She is survived by her brother, James Sinclair of Dayton and her beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Joyce will be held Thursday evening at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Rhonda Hobbs officiating. Graveside services and burial will take place Friday morning at 10:00am in Rhea Memory Gardens.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Thursday after 4:00pm.
