Joyce Lucille Hood, age 70 of Dayton died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at her home. She was born January 28, 1946 in Chattanooga to the late George and Dorothy (Higgins) Smith.
A resident of Dayton since 2005, she was a homemaker and caregiver to the elderly. She was a member of the Straightway Holiness Church in Soddy Daisy.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Ray Hood of Dayton, two sons Thomas Ray Hood, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and Anthony Smith of Florida, one daughter Melinda Hankins of Chattanooga, five brothers, Pete Smith, Van Smith and Ricky Smith all of Soddy Daisy, Richard Smith of Dayton and Gary Smith of Florida and two sisters June Smith of Dayton and Erin Smith of Chattanooga.
Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
