Josephine Therese Jacobsen, age 91, of Dayton died Friday evening December 14, 2007 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. Josephine was born March 18, 1916 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Gregory and Lucy (Huntcha) Burg.
Josephine was a long time resident of Orland Park, IL before moving to Dayton this past summer. She was a homemaker and loved to travel.
Prior to moving to Dayton, Josephine was a member of La Grange Bible Church in La Grange, IL. Since moving to Dayton, Josephine attended Grace Bible Church and First Baptist Church in Dayton.
Josephine is survived by her husband of 59 years, Alvin Jacobsen, sons Larry Jacobsen of Dayton, and Norman (Lucy) Jacobsen of Mokena, IL, daughters Linda (Terryl) Roddy of Dayton and Joyce (Mitchell) Lockard of Hazard, KY, her sister Myrtle Allison of Arizona, ten grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Funeral services for Josephine will be held Monday morning at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Doctor Doug Russell and Rev. Milton Knox officiating.
Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Sunday after 4:00 pm.
