Joseph Peter Potchen age 70 died at his home May 21, 2007

Joe was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jane (Murga) Potchen, his father,
Joseph Melvin Potchen, brother, Ronnie Potchen, sister-in-law, Sandy Potchen.

Joe was born December 8, 1936 in East Chicago, Indiana. He graduated from Calument Township High School, Gary, IN, then he enlisted in the US Marines for 2 years. At his retirement in 1991 he had been employed by Inland Steel Mill, East Chicago, IN for 35 years. His last job position was head loader (of steel) on #3 Coal Strip Mill. From his retirement to his death, he lived in Chattanooga, TN.

Survivors are his wife Ruth Ann (Zimmerman) Potchen of Chattanooga, his son, David Allen Potchen of IN, his mother, Kathleen (Peiffer) Potchen of Gary, IN, sister, Linda Turlo of Gary, IN and brother, Richard Potchen of Portage, IN, several neices and nephews.

Funeral services for Joe will be held Friday May 25 at 2pm at the Fagen- Miller Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calumet Park Cemetery in Merryville, IN followed by military honors.
