Johnny R. Harwood, age 86 of Graysville, died Sunday June 4, 2017 at his home. He was born January 22, 1931 in Graysville to the late Henry Bradford and Ruby (Smith) Harwood. He was also preceded in death by his wife Audrey (Knox) Harwood, his brother Mickey Harwood, and sister Frankie Harwood.
A life-long resident of Graysville, Johnny served his country with the U. S. Army in Korea. He was a boilermaker with TVA for many years. He was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and auto mechanics and was a historian. He was a hard core Democrat, a member of the Graysville City Council and a member of the Ruritan Club, a Mason, and former election committee member. He was member of the Graysville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his two daughters Rhonda (David) Hillian of Dayton and Wendy (Jeff) Rogers of Graysville, one son Mark (Lateesha) Harwood of Graysville, two grandsons Bradley Rose and Logan (Nicole) Rogers and children Zeke and Riley, sisters Priscilla Corvin and Carolyn Kelley, both of Dayton and aunt Velma Newberry of Graysville as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Thursday after 5:00 pm with military honors being rendered at 8:00 pm.
