John Albert Roberts

John Albert Roberts of Dayton age 82 died Tuesday August 8, 2006 in his home. He was born in Bledsoe County on September 5, 1923 the son of the late Marion and Ellen (Dunn) Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Mamie Sue (Cronan) Roberts and his brother Chatt Roberts.

John lived in Sale Creek until moving to Dayton in 1997. He worked in maintenance for Chattanooga Glass Company and has been retired for many years. John was a member of Sale Creek First Baptist Church and attended Faith Baptist Church in Dayton.

Survivors include his wife Lola (Hale) Roberts of Dayton, two daughters, Karen (Chris) Rackley and Terry (Gary) Posey both of Hixson, his son, Byron (Debbie) Roberts of Sale Creek, six grandchildren, three step children, five step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.


Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens at 3pm graveside service.

The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Wednesday, August 9, from 6-9pm.
