John William Scarborough, age 75 of Spring City, passed away early Wednesday morning, March 24, 2021 at his home in Spring City. John was born in Memphis on September 24, 1945, the son of the late William Jefferson Scarborough and Lucille (Poeteet) Scarborough Curtis.
John lived in Spring City since 1975. He worked for the assembly department at La-Z-boy and as a truck driver for a produce company. John was a member of the House of Salvation in Guntersville, AL, the Ten Mile Holiness Church of Jesus Christ He enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Deanna Scarborough of Spring City; his daughter, Dena (Rev. Greg) Gilliam of Guntersville, AL; his sons, Eric (Leann) Scarborough of Evensville and James (Robin) Scarborough of Stevenson, AL; sisters, Kitty (Pat) Cawley of Ashburn, GA and Kay Dillard of Tifton, GA; brother, Duane Scarborough of Chula, GA; seven grandchildren, Derek Scarborough of Spring City, Ashley (Cody) Boles of Evensville, Hope (Joe) Baldwin of Spring City, Jesse Scarborough of Chattanooga, Vinny Scarborough of Stevenson, AL, Keith Gilliam of Atlanta, GA and Cody (Paige) Gilliam of Mud Creek, AL; and eight great-grandchildren, Alexis Scarborough, Brianna Scarborough, Emma Baldwin; Haley Baldwin, Connor Gilliam, Arianna Boles, Carter Boles and Claire Gilliam.
Funeral services for John will be held Saturday afternoon, March 27, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with his son-in-law Greg Gilliam and Rev. Rusty Waller officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens.
