John Keedy

June 19, 1945 — February 27, 2006

John Franklin Keedy age 60 of Soddy Daisy died February 27, 2006 in Erlanger North Hospital. He was born in Pikeville June 19, 1945 the son of the late Jim Franklin and Maime Ruth (Parker) Keedy. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Brenda Gay (Buckner) Keedy.


John lived in Soddy Daisy for the past forty years. He worked for Astec Industries and worked with the Soddy Daisy Volunteer Fire Department for fifteen years. John attended East Daisy Church of God.

He is survived by his wife Louise (Creason) Keedy of Soddy Daisy, four sons, Teddy Ray Keedy of Brayton, Billy Keedy of Hixson, Jerry VanWinkle of Dayton and Terry VanWinkle of Soddy Daisy, three daughters, Joy Thurman of Spring City, Anita Shankles of Valley Head, AL. and Ginger Yother of Soddy Daisy, thirteen grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, five sisters, Jamie Hodge of Spencer, Rachel Nodine of Palmer, Margie Givens of Signal Mountain, Evelyn Murphy and Vera Murphy and brother, Jim Tom Keedy all of Pikeville, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for John will be held Thursday at 2pm in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Byron Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Pikeville.

The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Wednesday 3-9pm
