John Elwin Hoffman age 60 of Dayton died at his home late Wednesday.
evening. John was born in Battle Creek, MI on July 11, 1950 the son of Dale Edwin Hoffman and Fayetter Grace (Williams) Hoffman. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister Sherry Landis.
John lived most of his life in Dayton where he was a member of the Bethel Holiness Church. John served his country with the US Army, serving two tours in Viet Nam. He was employed as a welder at Komatsu in Chattanooga since 1991.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Rosalee “Rosie” (McCoy) Hoffman, his son Jeremy, his daughter Stacy (Paul) Woodard, three grandchildren, Ashton Hoffman, Bella Hoffman and Kaitlyn Woodard all of Dayton. He is also survived by his mother, Grace Hoffman of Graysville, two brothers, Dale Hoffman, Jr. and Donald Hoffman both of Dayton and his sister Denna Beadle of Graysville.
Funeral services for John will be held Saturday morning at 11:00am in the funeral home chapel with his pastor, Rev. Kevin Glaser officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Cranmore Cove Cemetery with military honors.
