John Emmett Dulaney, Jr. age 61 of Johnson City, TN died April 25, 2007 in the
James H. Quillen VA Hospital. He was born in Rhea County July 20, 1945 and lived in Dayton until moving to Johnson City 17 years ago.
John served his country with the US Army during the Korean War and worked 35 years with the Operator’s Union 917 as a heavy equipment operator. He loved fishing and was of the Church of God faith.
John is survived by his wife, Pat Freeman Dulaney of Johnson City, his mother, Mary Ruth (Collins) Dulaney of Dayton, his sons, Johnny (Lana) Dulaney III of Dayton, Glenn (Rhonda) Shepard of Soddy Daisy, his daughter Terry Griffith of Athens, TN, sisters, Shirley (Jack) Abel and Bobbie (Larry) Helton both of KY, his three brothers, Freeman Dulaney of Dayton, Floyd (Sue) Dulaney of Lebanon and David Collins of SD, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, John Emmett Dulaney Sr and his brother, James A, Dulaney.
Funeral services for John will be held Saturday at 1pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ken Goins officiating. Burial will be in Buttram Cemetery with full military honors.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Friday 4-8pm
