John Charles “J.C.” Curvin, age 86 of Graysville, died Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at his home. He was born April 20, 1926 in Soddy Daisy to the late George W. and Lela Ruth (Hindman) Curvin. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Frances (Lasley) Curvin, brothers Homer, Bert and Ray Curvin and sister Pauline Wright.
He was an electrician and a member of the I.B.E.W. He served his country with the U. S. Marines and was of the Methodist faith. He was a resident of Soddy-Daisy until moving to Graysville ten years ago.
J.C. is survived by his wife Peggy (Massengill) Curvin of Graysville, two sons, Terry (Shirley) Curvin of Soddy Daisy and Charles (Linda) Curvin of Hixson, three daughters, Joyce (Roger) Long of Brayton Mountain, Marquita (Charles) Farley and Sherry Curvin both of Hixson, two step-sons, Lewis (Amanda) White of Dayton and John (Linda) Hughes of Cartersville, GA, three step-daughters, Mary (Mike) Boling of Crossville, Jackie (Timothy) Keel of Sale Creek and Ruby (Steve) Hobbs of Seneca, SC, brother, Carl (Dottie) Curvin of Soddy-Daisy, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for J.C. will be held Friday morning at 9:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Rev. John Anderson officiating. Burial with military honors will be at 10:30 Friday morning at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
