Joanne Marie Tilley

Joanne Marie Tilley, age 55 of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at her home. She was born in Davenport, IA, on June 24, 1969, the daughter John Alvarez and the late Jane (Thornblade) Alvarez. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jon Paul Alvarez.

Joanne lived in Dayton since 1996. She proudly served her country in the US Navy in Desert Storm. She was employed as a phlebotomist, Certified Nursing Assistant, and an EMT. Joanne loved everything outdoors including camping, kayaking, and driving a race car. She was a member of The Grove Church.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Mark Tilley of Dayton; her five sons, Mark Tilley, Dustin Tilley, Brandon Tilley, and Cody Blagg, all of Dayton, and Jeremy Blagg of Greeneville; her two daughters, Emma Rose Brittany (Rev. Quinton) Carter of Grandview, and Katlyn (Fiancée – Michael Birnbaum) Tilley of Dayton; her parents, Pastor John (Debra) Alvarez of Aledo, IL; her two brothers, James Alvarez of Wilton, IA, and Sonny (Amy) Alvarez of Walcott, IA; her two sisters, Tonya Nichol of Aledo, IL, and Dawn (Rodney) Voss of Edgewood, IA; and her 21 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Joanne will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with her dad, Pastor John Alvarez, son-in-law, Pastor Quinton Carter, and Mr. Dan French officiating. She will be laid to rest at Rhea Memory Gardens with military honors.
