Joan Kathleen Heywood

Joan Heywood, age 96, of Dayton died Sunday morning, September 28, 2014 in the Life Care Center of Rhea County. She was born December 31, 1917 in Maidenhead, England to the late James and Dorothy Ellis . She was also preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Herbert Heywood, her eldest son, Roy Heywood and her youngest sister, Chris Ellis.
A resident of Dayton since 1991, Joan spent her early life serving in the Royal Air Force in England.
Joan is survived by her son, Allan (Pam) Heywood of Ontario, Canada and four grandchildren-two live in Canada, Peter and Anne and two live in Norway, Elizabeth and Rodney and nine great-grandchildren.
