Jo Deane Downing

Jo Deane Downing, age 81 of Dayton Mountain, passed away at Parkridge Medical Center on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on June 10, 1944, the daughter of the late William Howard Thompson and Henrietta (Mitchell) Thompson.

Jo called Colorado home before relocating to Dayton in 2018. A devoted homemaker and high school graduate, she had a deep love for music — expressed through her violin playing and her fondness for The Sound of Music. She also served her community as the church accountant at First Baptist Church of Dayton.

There will be no local services for Jo. She will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. (CST).

The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, Tennessee, and Memorial Park Funeral Home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
