Jo Ann “Nanny” Miles, age 70 of Graysville, passed away early Saturday morning, December 10, 2022, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. She was born in Dayton on March 18, 1952, the daughter of the late Sherman and Ruth (Ritchey) Crowe. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Crowe, Betty Corder, and Patsy Davis; her brothers, Jody Crowe, David Crowe, and Donnie Crowe; and her granddaughter, Emily Cheeks.
Nanny was a lifelong resident of Graysville where she was a member of the Graysville Church of God. For many years she was employed in the food service industry including at Argo’s Restaurant in Dayton.
Jo Ann is survived by her husband of 52 years, Denny Miles; her son Jimmy “Jimbo” (Kaitlyn) Miles; her daughter Christy Cheeks; and her sister Reba Bean, all of Graysville. She is also survived by her two brothers, Charles Crowe and Bobby (Ova) Crowe, both of Sale Creek. Nanny also leaves her grandchildren, Paige Miles, Kelsey (Allan) Cooley, Conner Miles, Denver Miles, Rosie Miles, and Jayce Holland along with two great-grandchildren Kaysen Hancock and Tripp Cooley. Nanny had three very special friends Karen, Kayley, and Kyle Argo.
Funeral services for Jo Ann will be held Tuesday afternoon, December 13, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Graysville Church of God with Pastors Michael Shrum and Jimmie Talley officiating. She will be laid to rest in Pleasant View Cemetery in Graysville.

The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Monday, December 12, 2022, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Jo Ann will also lie in state at the church one hour before her funeral on Tuesday.
