Jimmy Lee Cox, age 60, of Dayton Mountain, passed away early Thursday morning, December 26, 2019 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. He was born in Dayton on June 10, 1959. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Reginald Cox; his sister, Vickie Cox; nephew, William Cox; uncle, Ollie Cox; aunt, Martha Joyce (Cox) Rose; grandparents, James and Pearl Cox; and step-grandmother, Nanny Blanche Cox.
Jimmy lived on Dayton Mountain all of his life. He was a mold technician for IAC in Dayton for 24 years and was very passionate about music.
He is survived by his mother, Emma Earleen Cox of Dayton Mountain; his children, Sherry (Calvin) Marcoux of Decatur, Chris Cox of Athens, and Jenna Cox of Pikeville; four grandchildren, Cody Marcoux, Cameron Huckabey, Clayton Huckabey and Sophia Arianna Cox; brother, Jackie Cox of Cleveland; multiple aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and his companion Joann Henderson of Dayton.
Funeral services for Jimmy will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carroll Henderson and Mr. Cordell Leonard officiating. He will be laid to rest in Brown Cemetery in Dayton.
