Jessie Warren Williams, age 65 passed Thursday morning, May 14, 2009 in a Chattanooga health care facility. Jessie was born in Rhea County on October 29, 1943 and was a life-long resident of Dayton. He was a graduate of Dayton-Carver High School and served his country with the US Army in Viet Nam.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred (Howerton) Williams Avery of Dayton, his sister, Margaret (William) Swafford of Dayton, brother, Robert (Linda) Williams of TX, several special cousins, Janice Wilkerson of Chattanooga, Catherine Tulloss and Jack (Christine) Sharp both of Dayton. He is also survived by his aunt, Catherine Howerton of Dayton, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Jessie was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Williams and three brothers, Freddie, John and Harold Williams.
Funeral services for Jessie will be held Sunday afternoon at 5:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Robert Henderson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Sunday after 3:00pm
