Jesse Alford Hodge, age 81 of Sale Creek died early Saturday morning October 11, 2014 at his home. He was born in Sale Creek on October 7, 1933 the son of the late William “Buck” and Hester (Hawkins) Hodge.
A lifelong resident of Sale Creek, he served his country with the US Army. He retired from TVA as a foreman/supervisor and enjoyed gardening. Jesse was a member of the Lake Drive Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Helen (Mahan) Hodge, his daughter, Debbie (Roger) Pendergrass, grandson, Jesse Wade (Ashley) Johnson all of Sale Creek, granddaughter, Sasha (Andrew) Wood of CA, brother, Frank (Dru) Hodge of Sale Creek and sister, Betty (Bud) Ridgeway of KY.
Funeral services for Jesse will be held Monday at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Haynes, Rev. Bobby Schafer and Rev. Bud Ridgeway officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his infant daughter Debra Gail Hodge in the Welch Rogers Cemetery in Sale Creek with military honors.
