Jay Trusley

February 1, 1918 — November 28, 2008

Jay William Trusley age 90 of Dayton died Friday evening in the Rhea County Nursing Home. Jay was born in Decatur on February 1, 1918 the son of the late Lum and Betty (Ingle) Trusley.

Jay served his country with the US Army during WWII in Normandy receiving the purple heart and bronze star. He was a farmer and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his children, Jay Harold Trusley of Dayton, JoAnn Wilcox of Niota, Tommy Trusley, Jewell Ashburn and Newell Trusley all of Spring City. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial with full military honors will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30pm in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Monday after 10:00am.
