Jason Chris Walthers, age 51, of Spring City passed away on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Rhea Medical Center. He was born in Hamilton County on November 3, 1969, the son of the late John and Edith (Newberg) Walthers.
He lived in Rhea County most of his life and was a 1988 graduate of Rhea County High School. He was employed at Shaw Industries in Decatur for 26 years as a machine operator and tow motor operator. He also worked with his sister in outside endeavors. He loved riding bicycles with his grandchildren, NASCAR, Tennessee football, and hiking. He was a member of the Watts Bar Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Susan (Oliver) Walthers of Spring City; his two sons, Roger (Adena) Walthers of Spring City and Randy (Angela) Walthers of Dayton; his daughter, Nancy (Darnell) Parton of Evensville; many grandchildren; and his siblings, Brenda (Brian) Philpott of Pikeville, Donnie (Donna) Goodson of Summerville, GA, Scott (Mary) Walthers of Dayton, Donna (John) Goodfellow of Spring City, Marlene (Tom) Ray of Columbus, Ohio, and Dwight (Pat) Walthers of Dayton.
Funeral services for Jason will be held on Sunday afternoon, April 11, 2021, at 3:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Woychuk officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.
