James Thomas Sullivan, Sr. of Dayton, TN died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.
Born August 28, 1919 on Dayton Mountain, he was the son of the late Henry Thomas and Nellie Jane (Rice) Sullivan. He moved to Bradenton, FL in 1939 where he was a building contractor and carpenter. In 1981 he returned to the home of his birth and farmed. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the South Pacific during WWII.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Jesse and Fred Sullivan and grandson Nello Christopher Marconi.
James is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley Jean (Nettleton) Sullivan, son James (Lyric) Sullivan of Dayton Mountain., daughter Mary (Nello) Marconi of Arlington, VA, sisters Margaret Ritchey and Mary (Bill) Revis of Dayton Mountain and Martha Musgrave of Sebastian, FL and four grandchildren.
Funeral services with military honors will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Tommy Wilkey officiating.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral.
