James Preston Morgan

James Preston Morgan age 67 of Dayton died at his home Sunday morning December 29, 2013. He was born in Dayton on November 27, 1946 the son of the late Jack and Lorene (Dotson) Morgan. He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Jackie Morgan and Larry Morgan.
Jim lived in the Sale Creek/Dayton area all of his life and was a graduate of Rhea Central High School. He served his country with the US Army in Germany and retired from the Boilermakers Local 454. He was of the Church of God faith.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Lynda (Thomas) Morgan of Dayton, two sons, James Eric (Regina) Morgan of Bledsoe County and Jason Morgan of Sale Creek, step-son, John (Stefanie) Whitt of Bakewell, step-daughter, JoAnna Kutil of MN, his brother, Steve (Alison) Morgan of GA, his sister, Vicki (Jim) Silcox of Dayton, nine grandchildren, Jessica (Jesse) Goins, Austin Morgan, Christy Poe, Karin Alley, Chandler Johnson, Lily Whitt, Megan Whitt, BJ Burton and Kristen Burton along with six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services with Military Honors for Jim will be held Monday evening at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with his brother-in-law, Rev. Jim Silcox officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens Tuesday morning at 11:00am.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Monday after 5:00pm.
