James Thomas Iles, age 82 of Graysville passed away Wednesday October 25, 2017 at home. He was born in Sale Creek on August 16, 1935 to the late William H. and Elsie (Shipley) Iles. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Cathy Burson, sisters Willene Davis, Jean Payne and a granddaughter Brittney Flippo.
Tommy lived in Sale Creek and Graysville all of his life. He had been a truck driver, Graysville Water Superintendent and hung sheet rock. He also enjoyed fast cars, dirt track racing, reading westerns and working cross word puzzles. He was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife Alice (Higdon) of Graysville, two sons, Bill (Tami) Iles and Tony Iles both of Dayton, two daughters, Wendy (Rick) Blevins, Beverly (Anthony) Knox both of Graysville, three step-daughters Dawn Garner of Soddy Daisy, Crystal (Tracy) Sutherland of Soddy Daisy, Kylene Pendergrass of Dayton and two step-sons Jack Pendergrass and Justin Pendergrass both of Soddy Daisy. Also surviving are a brother Marty Iles of Graysville, two sisters Bobbie Cassidy of Graysville, Mickey Bell of Sale Creek and numerous step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Tommy will be held Thursday at 7:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Archie David Poole officiating. He will be laid to rest in Shipley Cemetery in Sale Creek on Friday at noon.
