Jacob Andrew “Jake” York age 19 of Dayton, TN passed away early Friday morning July 15, 2016. Jacob was born in Orlando, FL on December 17, 1996 to Mike and Julie (Brown) York. He was a graduate of Rhea County High School class of 2015 and was a star Rhea County Eagle football player. Jacob was always known for having the “softest heart and the hardest fists.” Jacob also enjoyed hunting and fishing, and lifting weights with his brothers.
Jacob is survived by his parents, his brothers Matthew (Chelsea) York of Knoxville, Joshua York, Seth York, and his sister, Hope York, all of Dayton. He is also survived by grandmothers Darlene Brown and Gean (Jimmy) Evans, both of Beaver Dam, KY, in addition to many loving aunts and uncles, and cousins. He is also survived by his longtime girlfriend, Alexa Hickman of Dayton. Jacob is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Manuel Brown and Charles York.
Funeral services for Jacob will be held Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 pm in the Rudd Chapel at Bryan College in Dayton with Rev. Rusty Revis officiating.

The family is being cared for by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Tuesday afternoon at 4:00pm. Jacob will also lie in state at the Rudd chapel one hour before his funeral.
