Jacob Joshua Johnson Jr

Jacob Joshua Johnson, Jr., age 10 of Dayton, passed away on March 27, 2025, at Children’s Hospital at Erlanger in Chattanooga. He was born in Chattanooga on March 10, 2015, the son of Jacob Johnson, Sr. and Dena (Downer) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, David Downer, and his maternal grandmother, Donna Kaylor.

Jacob lived in Dayton all of his life. He attended Chattanooga Christian School where he was a third grader. He loved to dance, sing, listen to music, swim, explore, and throw the ball. He attended Calvary Chapel in Chattanooga.

In addition to his parents, Jacob Johnson, Sr. and Dena Johnson, of Dayton, Jacob is survived by his paternal grandfather, Kevin Johnson of Dayton, his paternal grandmother, Bonnie Lamb of Oklahoma, and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Graveside Celebration of Life will be held at the Johnson Family Cemetery in Dayton on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. with his teacher, Meredith Griffin officiating, followed by a white dove release.

The family is being cared for by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton, Tennessee, where they will receive friends at the cemetery thirty minutes before the service.
