Jackson Ace “Jax Man” Fitzgerald age 11 of Dayton was called home to walk with Jesus Tuesday afternoon February 15, 2011 while at home surrounded by his loving family. He now has a body that will never hurt again. Jackson was born in Chattanooga on February 8, 2000 the son of Jason and Cheryl (Mincy) Fitzgerald.
Jackson lived all of his life in Dayton and was a 5th grader at Rhea Central Elementary School. He attended both Salem Baptist Church and First United Methodist Church of Dayton.
Jax Man was one who touched many lives in his short time on earth. Many people also played a special role in his life. The people of Siskin School, Lisa Spurlock, Miss Jennie Summerlin, Cookie and Miss Ruth, Mrs. Bunny and her assistants at the Evensville preschool, as well as the staff at Rhea Central, Doug Keylon, Connie Hartzell, Bethany Blaski and Kathy Creason along with many other assistants too numerous to name. All of them were an important part of Jackson’s life. Also, T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital, his pediatrician Dr. Virginia Rodgers and the Ronald McDonald House.
Jackson was preceded in death by his MaMaw Mary Jeanette Mincy, Aunt Sherry Mincy, Aunt Janice (Mincy) Hughes, PawPaw Rodney Smith and Great-grandparents Clyde and Reba Fitzgerald who are singing in heaven with Jackson today.
In addition to his Dad and Mom, Jackson is survived by his Sisters Alex Hughey and Lainey Fitzgerald, PaPaw Arthur “Red” Mincy, Grandparents Arnold and ViElla Fitzgerald, Great-grams Betty Smith, Uncle Jeremy (Sarah) Fitzgerald all of Dayton, Uncle Ron Hughes, Uncle Phil (Kathy) Mincy both of Soddy Daisy and Aunt Phyllis (Chuck) Dixon of Homossa, FL. He is also survived by many cousins who loved him and special friends John, Arnetta and Brittany Faulkenberry.
Graveside funeral services for Jackson will be held Friday morning at 11:00am at the Shaver Cemetery in Dayton with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald and Rev. Rusty Revis officiating followed by a white dove release. Jackson’s pallbearers will be John Faulkenberry, Mark Holland, Mark Russell, Doug Keylon, Matt Hampton and Walt Cameron.

The family is being served by the Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends Thursday after 3:00pm.
