Jackie Marlin Cox, Sr. age 57 of Graysville died Monday, February 19, 2007 in Memorial Hospital. He was born August 8, 1949 in Chattanooga, TN. the son of the late John and Millie (Bone) Cox. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Johnny Ruth Elrod and brother, Ray Cox.
Jackie lived in Graysville for the past 30 years. He was a former owner and operator of an Amoco service station and and was formerly employed as supervisor of maintenance with Hamilton County Board of Education. Jackie was of the Church of God faith.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 38 years Deborah (McClure) Cox, his sons, Jackie Cox Jr. of Graysville and Jason Cox of Chattanooga, grandsons, Ryan Cox of Graysville and Lee Cox of Bledsoe County, brothers, Bill Cox and Bobby Cox both of Chattanooga and his sisters, Diane Morris of Graysville and Linda Levi of Bakewell.
Funeral services for Jackie will be held Thursday at 1pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Carlos Swafford officiating. Burial will be in Rhea Memory Gardens followed by a white dove release.
The family is being served by Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton where they will receive friends Wednesday 2-8pm.
